Functional ConfigMgr Client
If you are installing Right Click Tools for the first time, you will have access to a 14 day free trial of the Enterprise Edition. Click here for more information about the difference between the Community Edition and Enterprise Edition.
After your download has completed, close all ConfigMgr consoles. Then double click on the installer .msi to install. The installer will open and you should click “Next” to continue.
In the screen that follows, select the Recast RCT Community version.
You can optionally select “Add RCT Builder to all console nodes” and “Skip in console permissions checks.” This will add RCT Builder to all the nodes in the ConfigMgr console. However, after your Enterprise Edition trial ends, you will not be able to use RCT builder. Similarly, if you select to “Skip in console permissions checks” all tools will appear as if they are available. However, after your 14 day Enterprise Edition trial ends you will only be able to run the tools that are available in the Community Edition.
The next screen reminds you that you will have access to a 14 day trial of the Enterprise Edition version of the software, only if applicable.
The install will continue, and when it is finished, the following screen will appear.
There are some settings that will be useful to add to the Configure Recast RCT application so that Right Click Tools will run smoothly.
Click the start menu and open “Configure Recast RCT.”
Underneath the SQL Configuration tab, entering the SQL Server and SQL Database information for your ConfigMgr Server may speed up actions and help with WMI quota violations.
Under the Interactive Command Prompt tab, downloading PsExec will allow you to use the Interactive Command Prompt action.
