Twenty years ago this month, Enhansoft began as a simple but bold idea: Make Microsoft endpoint management easier, clearer, and more accessible for IT teams everywhere. What started as a small Canadian company focused on filling the visibility gaps in ConfigMgr reporting has grown and merged into what is now Recast, a global leader in endpoint automation, insights, and productivity. Now on the 20th anniversary of Enhansoft’s founding, we’re celebrating not just a milestone, but also a legacy.
A brief history of Enhansoft
Enhansoft was born in a world where ConfigMgr (then SMS) was powerful but notoriously difficult to report on. Organizations needed answers, real answers, about their environments:
- Where are our devices?
- Is hardware aging out?
- Are warranties expired?
- Is software installed the way we think it is?
Enhansoft’s founders recognized that visibility wasn’t a luxury—it was the foundation for reliable systems management. Over the years, the product suite evolved into a collection of practical, impactful tools: better hardware inventory, more accurate software data, enhanced reporting, and deeper insights into device lifecycles.
As the suite matured, one theme remained constant: Transparency leads to better decisions.
Eventually, the Enhansoft portfolio caught the attention of Recast, a company with a complementary mission, empowering IT teams through intelligent automation and simplified workflows. When Enhansoft joined Recast, it wasn’t an ending; it was an acceleration.

Fast forward to today, and the DNA of Enhansoft lives on in Right Click Tools Insights, Recast’s modern, unified view of the data IT teams rely on every day.
