We’re almost halfway through 2026, and already there have been many exciting announcements. Microsoft has been bringing significant changes and updates to their products, and each of them is meant to improve the quality.

Prajwal’s take on Microsoft news
These past few weeks have been eventful, marked by numerous developments and significant announcements from Microsoft in areas such as Intune, Configuration Manager, and Windows 365. In case you haven’t yet had time to catch up on all the news, here’s a recap of the important updates.
- Configuration Manager’s supported current branch versions have been getting multiple updates in the form of hotfixes and rollups. These are significant updates and address several issues to improve functionality of the product.
- On April 14, 2026, the Microsoft Desktop Optimization Pack (MDOP) reached the end of extended support. If you are using any of the MDOP products, Microsoft has published a checklist with recommended solutions.
- Microsoft is working on Enterprise App Management to simplify app deployment with pre-packaged apps, reducing repetitive tasks and allowing focus on policy and rollout strategies.
- The Admin Insights for Windows 365 is now in public preview. It’s designed to help IT administrators quickly understand what’s happening in their environment and where to focus.
- New Microsoft 365 pricing changes will be in effect starting July 1, 2026. Customers will receive at least 30 days’ notice in Message Center before packaging changes become available in their tenant.
