Introduction
Hello, everyone! I am Prajwal Desai, a Microsoft Intune & Windows 365 MVP dedicated to sharing my expertise through blogs, forums, and video tutorials.
I can’t believe we’re already in the last quarter of 2026. Time flies by so fast. I took a short break and travelled to my hometown for a festival. Spending time with family is refreshing and gives you the energy to embark on new endeavors. Reflecting on my accomplishments makes me feel like I could have achieved even more. However, it’s important to always look ahead and embrace new opportunities.
As I always say, it’s an honor to present the latest edition of the Recast Endpoint Management Recap. Don’t forget to subscribe to the newsletter on the left-hand side of this page.
Prajwal’s take on Microsoft news
There have been numerous developments and significant announcements from Microsoft in areas such as Intune, Configuration Manager, and Windows 365. In case you haven’t yet had time to catch up on all the announcements from Microsoft across different products, I’m happy to offer a recap of the important updates.
- The October 2026 Patch Tuesday update fixes a record-breaking 1,411 vulnerabilities across the software ecosystem, including one actively exploited zero-day and two publicly disclosed zero-day flaws (featuring 70 Critical fixes).
- Admins can now simultaneously deprovision multiple Cloud PCs instantly, bypassing the seven-day grace period, using provisioning policies or the Intune Bulk Action Wizard.
- Intune offers day-zero support for new Apple settings across iOS, iPadOS, and macOS, including app controls, Apple Intelligence, accessibility, Safari, Siri, content caching, DNS proxies, and web filtering.
- Trust certificates for Windows Update expire on May 17 and June 19, 2027. Administrators should keep devices updated and upgrade unsupported Windows versions to maintain connectivity. WSUS-updated devices are unaffected.
- Support for Office LTSC 2021, Project LTSC 2021, and Visio LTSC 2021 ended on October 13, 2026. Microsoft no longer provides security fixes, updates, or technical support.
