Introduction

Hello, everyone! I am Prajwal Desai, a Microsoft Intune & Windows 365 MVP dedicated to sharing my expertise through blogs, forums, and video tutorials.

What could be more exciting to discuss than the recent MVP Summit? This exclusive event for all active MVPs (Most Valuable Professionals) and RDs (Regional Directors) took place March 24 – 26, 2026 at the Microsoft Redmond campus and online. I attended the online sessions and found them excellent.

As I always say, it’s an honor to present the latest edition of the Recast Endpoint Management Recap. Don’t forget to subscribe to this newsletter on the left-hand side of this page.

Prajwal’s take on Microsoft news

There have been some significant Microsoft announcements in recent weeks. In case you haven’t yet had time to catch up on all the news, here’s a recap of the important updates.

  1. Microsoft is reducing upsells in Windows 11 to create a calmer user experience. To begin with, Microsoft has eliminated the Copilot AI icon from the most recent updates of Notepad and Snipping Tool.
  2. Windows 10 Enterprise 2016 LTSB and Windows 10 IoT Enterprise 2016 LTSB will reach end of support October 13, 2026. Organizations should consider migrating to Windows 11 to receive the latest updates.
  3. Starting with the April 2026 security update, Microsoft is removing trust for all kernel drivers signed by the deprecated cross-signed root program. This update will help ensure that by default, you can only load kernel drivers the Windows Hardware Compatibility Program (WHCP) passes and signs.
  4. Finally, CISA recommends hardening Endpoint Management Systems following a recent cyberattack targeting a U.S. organization.
