The Smile You Remember

When you meet Eric Guity, the first thing you notice is his warmth—that easy smile that seems to carry both joy and calm. Born in Honduras, raised in the South Bronx, and now calling Seattle home, Eric brings a mix of grounded optimism and quiet determination to everything he does. “We Garifuna love to smile and have fun,” he says. “We don’t take life too seriously.”

From Wall Street Dreams to Software Sales

Eric’s journey into the world of enterprise technology began far from where you might expect. After studying finance, he imagined himself on Wall Street, until life steered him in a different direction. His first job out of college was with Enterprise Rent-A-Car, a program known for building future leaders through hard work and long hours. “It taught me how to sell, how to serve, and how to keep showing up,” he recalls.

From there, Eric moved into B2B sales at ADP and later into the SaaS world in Seattle, where he connected with Phil Luong, now Chief Revenue Officer at Recast. Over time, that connection grew into an invitation to join the team, grounded in shared values and mutual trust.

Heritage & Heart: The Garifuna Identity

Eric is proudly Afro-Latino, part of the Garifuna people of Honduras, an Afro-Caribbean community with its own language, music, and traditions. Though he doesn’t speak the Garifuna language, his pride runs deep. “We’re happy people. We smile, we dance, and when things don’t go our way, we move on and find joy again.”

That richness of identity carries into how he shows up professionally. According to Phil Luong: “Eric is a consummate professional who treats everyone he encounters with respect. He consistently challenges himself to learn and improve both personally and professionally.”

Collaboration Built on Shared Experience

At Recast, Eric finds purpose not just in closing deals, but also in the way those deals are done. He points to the team of Solutions Engineers as one of his favorite parts of the job: “Our SEs used to be in the exact same shoes as our customers. They speak their language. That makes every conversation more real.” It’s a reflection of how he values authenticity and empathy, bridging the gap between buyer and seller with honesty and understanding.

A Culture of Belonging

From his first week at Recast, when he flew to Minneapolis to meet the team, Eric felt something different. “Everyone was just so nice,” he says. “People would drop what they were doing to help me.”

One pivotal moment stands out: a key customer meeting where leadership stepped in to support the deal. “I never expected the CEO to come to one of my meetings,” he says. “That kind of support stays with you.” In Eric’s eyes, that’s what Recast is about, leaders who roll up their sleeves and don’t just direct from above.

Family First

Outside work, Eric’s life is full, and joyfully loud. He and his wife are raising three beautiful daughters, ages seven, four, and two, who keep their home teeming with energy. “They inspire me daily,” he says with a grin. “Whether I’m taking them to sports or breaking up their fights, they keep me grounded.”

Erin Senser, Senior Sales Manager at Recast, says: “Eric is a natural in the sales chair. He is self-motivated, professional, and confidently navigates the minefield of objections that come our way from prospective buyers. He’s easy to work with and quickly earns the trust and respect of his customers and peers. One of my favorite things about Eric, though, is how much he values his family. The hard work he puts in at Recast is ultimately for his beautiful wife and daughters.”

Looking Ahead

For Eric, the threads that tie together identity, gratitude, and belonging are also what tie him to Recast. He sees his role not just as “selling software,” but also as helping organizations, teams, and individuals do more, feel supported, and move forward. “Everyone here wants to help,” he says. “We’re all part of something growing and meaningful.”

In a world of change, Eric Guity represents the kind of stability, warmth, and purpose Recast stands for—grounded in heritage, driven by community, and tuned into the positive impact of what we do.
