Introduction

Hello, everyone! I am Prajwal Desai, a Microsoft Intune & Windows 365 MVP dedicated to sharing my expertise through blogs, forums, and video tutorials.

Welcome to 2026! I trust you all had a delightful and relaxing holiday break. I am genuinely excited to embark on this journey together and make this year a memorable and successful one.

It’s an honor to present the latest edition of the Recast Endpoint Management Recap. Don’t forget to subscribe to this newsletter on the left-hand side of this page.

Prajwal’s take on Microsoft news

Last month, there were a lot of announcements, such as hardware-accelerated BitLocker, the release of UR1 for System Center 2025, and Copilot updates. In case you haven’t yet had time to catch up on all the news from Microsoft, here’s a recap of the important updates.

  1. Starting with the December 2025 security update, you can now authenticate Microsoft Entra ID app sign-ins through Web Account Manager (WAM) with WebView2, the Chromium-based web control.
  1. Starting with the January 2026 security update, Windows Server 2025 will have its own KBIDs, separate from Windows 11, versions 24H2 and 25H2. Server 2025 also gets native NVME support.
  1. There’s been a big boost to Windows 11 security where BitLocker now takes advantage of system on chip (SoC) and central processing unit (CPU) capabilities. You can now achieve better performance and security for current and future NVMe drives.
  1. System Center 2025 Update Rollup 1 (UR1) is now generally available! This update brings important enhancements and fixes across the System Center suite, with a focus on security, compatibility, and reliability improvements.
