Introduction  

Hello, everyone! I am Prajwal Desai, a Microsoft Intune & Windows 365 MVP dedicated to sharing my expertise through blogs, forums, and video tutorials. It’s an honor to present the October 2025 Recast Endpoint Management Recap. I hope you enjoy this edition.  

Prajwal’s Take on Microsoft News  

In October, there were many announcements across Microsoft products, especially Intune, Windows 11, and Windows 365. Here are some of my observations. 

1. Let’s start with some good news. The Microsoft Intune settings catalog has been updated to support new Windows 11, version 25H2 settings. Microsoft is being proactive in allowing IT admins to confidently manage devices running the latest Windows OS version from the moment they deploy it in their environment for testing or production use. 

2. Microsoft has also released the new administrative templates and group policy settings for version 25H2. For environments where devices are on-premises, system administrators must import these templates into their central management store to use the policies. 

3. If you’ve ever noticed Windows 11’s Update and Shut Down not actually shutting down your PC and restarting instead, you’re not alone. Turns out it was a known issue with Windows 11 and even Windows 10. It’s finally fixed. This fix will begin rolling out to everyone with this month’s Patch Tuesday, scheduled for November 11. 

4. Windows 10 reached end of support on October 14, 2025 for most editions. These devices no longer receive new features, quality updates, security fixes, or support. Microsoft recommends upgrading to Windows 11 for critical and security updates.
