What’s New in Right Click Tools: November Release Roundup

Here’s a quick summary of the new features added, and bugs fixed in Right Click Tools for November. Each month we will provide a full recap of what’s new and each quarter we will publish a series of deep dives of all the big new features you’ve been asking for. Enterprise Customers can install the latest version by logging into Recast Software Portal.

New Features

  • Add content size to Client Information – Cache tool
  • Right Click Tools installer now handles upgrades without prompts
  • Recast Proxy installer now handles upgrades without prompts.  Note that you must be on the November release before silent upgrades will work correctly.
  • Recast Management Server installer will detect the current SQL and certificate configuration during upgrades.

Bugs Fixed

  • Active Directory Cleanup tool does not handle DNS suffixes correctly
  • Recast Proxy – Proxies should return data when the action fails to start
  • Version mismatch between Recast Node and Configure Recast RCT/Add Remove Programs
  • Recast Management Server – Permissions page does not auto refresh to reflect new changes
  • Recast Management Server – Windows Authentication Issue
  • Recast Management Server Scopes allows null property for a domain
  • Kiosk Manager – Delete Files on Restart generates an invalid script
  • Kiosk Manager: Internet Explorer Doesn’t Start Maximized
  • Kiosk Manager: Fail to Apply Because BouncyCastle.Crypto.dll is in use
  • Recast Management Server – Check boxes are difficult to see when unchecked on the web UI
  • Recast Node – Trial license expiration date is showing up in the expiration field
  • Set LAPS Expiration – Null reference exception when multiselecting from the MBAM dashboard
  • Client Information – Cache – DataGrid will not sort by the LastUsed column
  • Right Click Tools Installer should detect when the installed .NET version is less than expected
  • Ping System – Computer name column is duplicated
  • Security Scopes tool does not work
  • Task Sequence Content – Redistribute Content to DP null reference exception
  • Server Installer: Custom Action Fails if User is Missing Display Name
  • Status Message Viewer – File not found exception
  • UWF Status – Not implemented exception on get help
  • Task Sequence Content – Collection was modified exception
  • Recast Node – Add scrollbar to lower right
  • Pie Chart User Control Legend – Set ScrollViewer visibility to Auto
  • System Information Collection – An ItemsControl is Inconsistent with its Source
  • Recast Management Server – Settings UI should not allow editing of setting or plugin names
  • Recast Management Server – Settings UI does not work for MaximumLapsExpirationTime
  • Recast Management Server – Add Users / Groups does not search for users or groups in trusted domains
  • Recast Proxy Installer – Icon is missing from add / remove programs
  • Recast Proxy Installer – EULA screen should not show up
  • Recast Management Server – Settings UI – Settings are duplicated in Internet Explorer when a settings is changed
  • Recast Management Server – Settings UI – EnableRemoteRegistry setting is a textbox instead of a checkbox
  • Builder – Data contract error when adding registry actions
  • System Information – User Profiles – Delete Profile – Value cannot be null error
  • Kiosk Manager – Apply profile / remove profile should honor EnableRemoteRegistry setting
  • Installed Software Plugin – List Software should honor the EnableRemoteRegistry setting
  • Kiosk Manager – Remote folder paths should be proxy aware
  • Hardware Dashboard – Lenovo MFG shows as Other
  • Application Revision History is disabled
  • Recast Management Server: Routes Need Input Validation
  • Recast Management Server: Add Users / Groups includes Distribution Lists
  • MBAM Recovery Keys – Sorting by date sorts by the string value rather than the date value
  • UWF Manage Profiles – Finish button is occasionally disabled when creating a new profile
  • UWF Apply Profile – Schedule Deployment option shows up when not connected to RMS
  • Task Sequence Content Tool crashes when connected to RMS
  • Content Info: Remove Content from DP Fails
  • ReLAPS – Null Reference Exception on Client Install State
  • Task Sequence Content Tool – not properly enumerating DP Group membership due to nalPath not matching when case sensitivity is followed
